TAP’d In: Power in Pride

December 4 @ 6:00 pm

Event Categories:
Free

This a free TAP’d In exclusive event for TAP members presented by About Face Theatre!

6pm Performance followed by a facilitated discussion.

About Face Theatre presents POWER IN PRIDE, an original touring show developed by the celebrated About Face Theatre Education & Outreach Program. POWER IN PRIDE speaks to personal queer experiences of the current moment, the future of queer culture, and works to unearth what has been erased around LGBTQIA+ history. It recognizes the power and impact of theatre as a tool for youth-led social change. The work is easy to reach and digest but at its core it is anti-oppression work focusing on systemic change—with youth at the helm. Written from true experiences of building chosen family, exploring LGBTQIA+ history, allyship, mental health, and finding personal joy, POWER IN PRIDE invites audiences into positive dialogue to create more equitable and inclusive school and community environments for all.

RSVP is required to attend. RSVP at http://bit.ly/2PM5mjP

Teen Arts Pass is proud to present TAP’d In, a series of opportunities for teen members to have a deeper experience with an art form beyond seeing TAP-eligible shows. For 2019, these experiences are focused on the theatre arts as part of the 2019 Year of Chicago Theatre. The program is supported by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. Check out a full listing of TAP’d In events right here.
