PlayMakers Laboratory (formerly Barrel of Monkeys) provides arts education programs focused on storytelling, theater, and social-emotional skills to Chicago elementary school students. Students write stories in our creative writing workshops, and then our ensemble of professional actors adapts them into sketches, songs, and dance numbers. We perform these stories first for students at their schools, and then for the public in our long-running variety show “That’s Weird, Grandma.”
